Qweerial Isle Asylum Paradise is a game in the Divine Sister trilogy by The Sister's Order. It is the successor to Gaymoria Peak Church Asylum, and the predecessor to De Pride Isle Sanatorium. Its known developers include Valindra, Eveylia, 1Crumb, 1SparkIe and KylieDeAmore[1].

Though it was intended to be the superior replacement of Gaymoria, Qweerial was abandoned by group members shortly after its initial release of June 19th, 2019. DPI was released on June 30th, 2019, following the deletion of TSO, which lead to the abandonment of Qweerial. Since then, the game, again similarly to Gaymoria, has remained and open game, though inactive since the Asylum gate, along with the other entrances are all locked.

Map (external)

Qweerial is located on a small series of islands in a seemingly tropical setting. The isle is lightly vegetated with large Palm Trees, as well as smaller trees that bear resemblance to Oak Trees. There are multiple mountains scattered amongst the isle, and most of the ground is covered in a lush grass. Surrounding the isle are bright blue waters that will kill any player attempting to swim in them.

All players will spawn in a small cave upon joining the game, its only contents being an even smaller white cave, a donation board, and multiple torches lining the walls. The donation board displays the TSO's top doners, and the white cave is used by nurses to get to the asylum faster.

Upon exiting the isle, players will find themselves on a small island containing two houses, a small firepit, and a dock. This small island is adjacent to a larger island, which can be accessed by a small sailboat that travels in between the two. The larger island houses the asylum itself, a village, a small house, a series of picnic areas, and a large beach that lines most of the island. The island itself is extremely high in altitude in most areas.

Map (asylum)

Compared to Gaymoria and the newest version of DPI, Qweerial features the smallest facilities of the three games. The asylum is a two story building with a main foyer and an 'East' and 'West' wing. Overall, the asylum appears to have a barren aesthetic, with brown stone floors and walls in most areas, and a lack of decoration.

Main Foyer

The main foyer spans from the front to the back of the asylum. It is where the front door is located, as well as the front desk, which is usually staffed by a nurse. On the second floor of the main foyer, there is a small mezzanine, where the Holy Shipment arrives. Additionally in the main foyer are entrances to the East and West wings, as well as a large skylight.

East Wing

The first floor of the East Wing houses the Dressing Room, where all patients must put on uniforms upon entry, as well as the Dorms. The Dorms are a series of small rooms with beds inside them, connected via a large hallway. On the second floor of the East Wing is the Cafeteria, Kitchen, Restroom, Staff Room, Control Room, and ISO. Meals are served in the Cafeteria and prepared in the Kitchen.

The Restroom is adjacent to the Cafeteria and serves no real purpose. The Staff Room and Control Room are both staff-only areas, as the name suggests, where nurses come to rest. The Control Room also contains the switches for the doors, lights, and alarm. Finally, ISO is where misbehaving or ill patients are kept, in cells. There is also a small staircase near ISO, that leads into the Dorms. Nurses will use this staircase in the event of a Patrol.

West Wing

The lower floor of the West Wing usually remains locked, although it houses the Nursery, Office, Playground, Therapy Room, and Bunker. The Nursery is used for surgeries, and it connects to the Office, which is used for private meetings or staff interviews. The Playground is used during the Playground activity, the Bunker is used in the event that the ill patients have gotten out of control, and the Therapy Room is used during the Therapy activity.

The second floor of the West Wing contains the Melon Garden, Lecture Hall, a donation board, and a small staircase that leads to the lower West Wing, similar to the staircase of the East Wing. The Melon Garden is mostly exists for decoration, although it does contain a Qweerial Melon tree. Lastly, the Lecture Hall is a multipurpose room, however it is most commonly used during Distribution.

Gameplay

As the name suggests, the gameplay premise of Qweerial is that it is an asylum. The game took place in the year 1985[2] upon its release[3].

Because of the fact that Qweerial is an asylum, nurses will usually be closely monitoring the daily schedule of patients, keeping them busy with various activities throughout the course of the day. These include but are not limited to Playground, Therapy, and Surgery. Nurses will host these activities from morning (6:00) to nightfall (20:00). The only activities that must occur every day are Breakfast, Distribution, and Dinner.

Distribution occurs shortly after the time that the Holy Shipment arrives (10:00). At nightfall, patients will be sent to the dorms. Any patients caught outside of the dorms hall will be taken to ISO for punishment. During the nighttime, patients must defend themselves against the ills, however the only defense method for patients is to hide or run.

Any patient that attempts to inform the nurses of the cannibals will likely be called 'Delusional' or 'Unholy'. If a player is killed by a cannibal, they will be presented with a death message, before being teleported back to spawn. This also applies to players who have drowned via jumping in the water or who have let their Hunger motive drop too low. Other motives besides Hunger include Energy and Vitality. Energy is lost throughout the day and is regained when sleeping. In Qweerial, the only way to lose Vitality is to be attacked by a cannibal. Vitality is regained automatically, gradually.

Insanity

Like its predecessors and successors, Qweerial features an insanity system. In order to turn into a cannibal, a player must acquire six blurs. These occur about every 15 minutes, although this process can be sped up with a Special Mixture. As a player acquires more blurs, the map will begin to take on a distorted appearance. Characteristics of this appearance include a red sky, black vines, and hanging bodies. This version of the map is only visible to players who have acquired a certain number of blurs. The only ways to remove or 'reset' blurs are to drink Holy Water or die. Once a player has acquired six blurs, they will transform into a cannibal at nightfall.

Cannibals are able to attack and kill other players, or even eachother, to increase their hunger need, although it is not required. If a cannibal is caught by a nurse, they are taken to ISO, where they remain until they transform back in the morning. Nurses will patrol the dorms after they have heard 6 screams[4]. If the nurses have already patrolled but the screams continue, then they are likely to call a Bunker, which requires all players to go into the bunker in the West Wing of the asylum.

Trivia

  • Nurses will frequently make references to modern pop culture, even though the game is set to take place in the 1980's
  • Nurses are occasionally referred to as 'Hospice' or 'Qweerial' staff, as well as 'Sisters'
